Uzbek FM holds talks in Afghanistan

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov held a series of meetings and negotiations with officials of the interim government of Afghanistan.

In particular, the head of the foreign affairs department met with the Acting Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, Acting Deputy Prime Minister Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Acting Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Acting Foreign Ministry Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Acting Minister of Interior Affairs Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, Acting Minister of Commerce and Industry Nooruddin Azizi.

During the conversations, a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed.

Particular attention was paid to intensifying economic ties and creating the most favourable conditions for effective interaction between the business communities of the two countries.

“We have rich and shared history, common traditions and future. There are many avenues we can jointly utilize”, emphasized Bakhtiyor Saidov.
