Uzbekistan and China plan to strengthen consular-legal cooperation

Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan and the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China met in Beijing, Dunyot news agency reported.

A wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation in the consular-legal sphere was discussed with Xie Yantsun, Deputy Director of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China

The talks touched upon the visa policy of the Chinese side, protection of rights and interests of citizens of the two countries, expansion of the legal framework between Uzbekistan and China.

The Chinese side was provided with detailed information about the favourable conditions created by our government for the development of tourism, entrepreneurship and business, as well as for foreign investors and the reforms being implemented in this direction.

It was noted that citizens of 91 foreign countries have been introduced a visa-free regime to enter Uzbekistan, and from 1 March 2021, Chinese citizens will also enjoy a visa-free stay of up to 10 days in our country.

In turn, citizens of Uzbekistan can visit a number of countries without visas and in some states there is a simplified visa procedure for them.

It was noted that the Uzbek side is also interested in visa privileges for its citizens travelling to China.

Following the meeting, the sides reached an agreement to continue co-operation on further strengthening of friendly relations between the countries in the consular and legal sphere.
