On 14 November 2020, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the acting President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov.
Current issues in Uzbekistan – Kyrgyzstan relations of friendship, neighborliness and strategic partnership were discussed during the conversation.
Particular attention was paid to promoting joint projects and programs the implementation of which will contribute to the enhancement of practical cooperation between the two countries, primarily in trade, industry, agriculture, transport, interregional and humanitarian exchanges, in other priority areas.
The need was noted for intensifying the activities of the Intergovernmental Commission on Delimitation and Demarcation of the State Border, as well as the Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation and the Council of Heads of Border Regions.
The importance of continuing close coordination and assistance in countering the pandemic impact was emphasized.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reaffirmed that Uzbekistan fully supports the brotherly people of Kyrgyzstan in their aspiration for peaceful and stable development, wellbeing and prosperity.
