On 10 February, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov.
During the talk, the heads of state discussed issues of further strengthening Uzbek-Kyrgyz relations based on friendship, good neighbourliness and strategic partnership.
Parties noted the steady growth of mutual trade turnover and emphasised the implementation of industrial cooperation projects.
Ongoing work on major infrastructure facilities was discussed, including the construction of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway and the Kambarata hydropower station.
Presidents also exchanged views on topical issues of the regional agenda and agreed on a schedule for upcoming bilateral and multilateral events.
