President of Uzbekistan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulates military personnel and veterans on Defenders of Motherland Day and the 34th anniversary of the formation of the Armed Forces.

The Head of State calls the Armed Forces one of the reliable guarantees of the irreversibility of reforms in the country. He notes that the army is being phasedly equipped with modern weapons and military equipment, the command and support system is being improved and modernised, and the level of combat training of personnel, as well as the professional, intellectual, and spiritual potential of military personnel, is increasing.

The rapidly changing situation on the political and military map of the world sets new tasks in this area.

"In various regions, the geopolitical situation is becoming increasingly complicated, and conflicts and bloodshed are intensifying. Modern technologies and new-generation weapons are appearing, and the strategy and tactics of conducting combat operations are being improved. Based on this, we will modernise combat methods and command based on modern requirements, paying special attention to the education of highly qualified military personnel fully prepared for new conditions," Shavkat Mirziyoyev notes.

"The priority task will remain the constant increase of morale and physical fitness of military personnel, and the strengthening of their patriotic feelings. Since the outcome of any battle is decided by knowledge and qualifications, will and determination, self-confidence, and the combat qualities of personnel," he emphasises.

"In the centre of our attention will also always be the tasks of equipping the national army with modern weapons and military equipment, including robotic complexes based on artificial intelligence, and the further introduction of advanced information technologies into the processes of troop command and decision-making," the President continues.

Work will also be strengthened to increase the effectiveness of social protection and the growth of the well-being of military personnel and their family members, he adds.

The day before, at a meeting of the Security Council, the President spoke about improving the system for training military personnel. Military personnel will be able to take entrance tests for universities directly at their units, study IT and work with artificial intelligence, receive certificates in professions and languages, and, after service, receive benefits for work and business. Shavkat Mirziyoyev also instructs to update the Defence Doctrine and the Concept of National Security of the country.
