Uzbekistan's President will participate in the Second World Social Development Summit in Doha. The goal of the forum, held under the auspices of the United Nations, is to intensify efforts to eliminate poverty, ensure decent working conditions, and expand social inclusion in the face of modern challenges.
Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit Qatar on November 3–4 for a working visit to attend the Second World Social Development Summit in Doha, the President's press service announced.
The event, held based on the UN General Assembly resolutions from 2024, will address eliminating existing gaps in socioeconomic development, adhering to the goals and principles of the Copenhagen Declaration on Social Development (adopted at the first World Summit for Social Development in March 1995), and accelerating the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Special attention will be paid to strengthening international cooperation, improving national strategies, and introducing comprehensive measures aimed at enhancing the sustainability, social justice, and inclusiveness of societies, the statement notes.
"The main goal of the forum is to intensify global efforts to eliminate poverty, promote full and productive employment, ensure decent working conditions, and expand social inclusion in the face of modern challenges and interdependence," the head of state's press service reported.
The summit is expected to conclude with the adoption of the Doha Declaration, aimed at strengthening international partnership and developing coordinated approaches to achieving the goals of sustainable and inclusive social progress.
