On 13 July 2021, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbaeva received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Uzbekistan Olgan Bekar.
During the conversation, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral relations, as well as issues of further strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation.
Bekar highly appreciated the large-scale democratic reforms carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The parties stressed that the development of the inter-parliamentary dialogue serves to bring the Uzbek-Turkish cooperation to a higher level, in particular, the implementation of agreements in the trade, economic, investment, technological, cultural and humanitarian spheres reached during the high-level visits.
During the talks, other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
