Russia, Uzbekistan synchronise economic reforms

Director of the Agency for Strategic Reforms (ASR) Bakhodir Rakhmatov and Director of the International Relations Office of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) of Russia Mikhail Makarov discussed substantive issues of cooperation between the two agencies within the framework of the joint plan of interaction measures expected to be signed for 2024.

Mikhail Makarov noted the initiatives of social and regional development, environmental initiatives, integration projects including the “Green Eurasia”, “BRICSolution” competitions, and also invited Uzbekistan to participate in them.

He also expressed ASI’s readiness to provide expert support in holding a republican-level event similar to the “Strong Ideas for New Times” Forum in Russia.

The Russian side informed that the ASI team is working to translate into Uzbek the platform for exchanging regional development practices and implementing large projects for replication such as Smarteka.

The parties discussed the possibilities of developing the creative economy and industrial tourism, which are one of the areas of cooperation between agencies for the current year.

The dialogue between the parties is an important step in deepening cooperation between agencies and reflects a common desire to develop extensive partnerships in various fields of activity.
